Types of Working Holidays

Working holiday maker programs are generally open to people between 18 and 31 years of age. Each country may have different criteria and requirements attached to their program, but they all have the universal goal of enabling you to legally work in that country for a period of time to sustain travelling and living expenses.

Working holidays can be anything you want! You decide where to go – your interests and likes design your journey – which cities to live in and what types of jobs to undertake. You might want a ‘sun and surf’ focused opportunity such as working on a Greek island for a summer, or a ‘snow and ice’ experience like working a ski season in a chalet in France or the Swiss Alps. You may wish to focus your working holiday on developing your career like taking a job in Tokyo as marketing coordinator or as an accountant in Hong Kong. You may however, choose more casual-orientated work in order to provide more flexibility to travel such as fruit picking in Australia or working a bar job in London.

It all depends on what you want to do. There is no reason why you can’t do all above ideas in each country!
